It’s been 50 years since the Beatles first landed in the United States for their earthshaking debut appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show and people are still going crazy for the Fab Four. Even the New York Port Authority.
This Friday (February 7) at 11:30 am ET, a ceremony will be held at John F. Kennedy Airport’s Central Terminal Area, where the Beatles first landed 50 years earlier. It also marks the spot where the band held their first press conference in the States.
According to a press release, Friday’s event will see Port Authority Executive Director Pat Foye and Deputy Executive Director Deb Gramiccioni ” unveil a historical marker inside the restored TWA Flight Center, paying tribute to the Beatles arrival at JFK Airport.”
